Barker Minerals' management consists of a team of individuals with strong business and geological experience. The list below includes all directors and officers with a brief summary background for each.
Louis Doyle Position: President, CEO & Director Email: Since founding Barker Minerals in 1993, Mr. Doyle has been the driving force in acquiring mineral properties for the Company and directing all aspects of the Company's exploration activities. He has been instrumental in advancing the Company's mineral discoveries. Mr. Doyle initiated cooperative programs, together with the BC Geological Survey and the Geological Survey of Canada, which produced a number of scientific publications validating the potential for volcanic massive sulphide deposit types in this new discovery area. He recognized the potential for gold, platinum and volcanic massive sulphide deposits over a newly documented mineralized district and made the first discovery of a volcanic massive sulphide bedrock occurrence in the Barkerville terrane. Prior to founding the Company, Mr. Doyle spent five years in the mutual fund industry, developing an appreciation for long term investments particularly in the resource sector.
Jerry J. Kristian, B.Comm. Position: CFO & Director Mr. Kristian is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, where he earned a Commerce degree. Mr. Kristian is active in real estate and investments, and has recently completed the Canadian Securities Program.
James A. Kasten, M.Sc. (Geology) Position: Director Email: Mr. Kasten is Vice-President, Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs, of Ecuardorian Minerals Corporation and served in this position for Aranlee Resources Ltd. from April 1994 -- October 1997. He has worked as a senior geoexploration geologist for several major companies for fifteen years and worked as a commercial realtor for a two year period from 1992 -- 1994.
Peter Hardychuk Position: Director Mr. Hardychuk has operated a successful trucking company in the lower mainland for over 38 years. Mr. Hardychuk has been involved with Barker Minerals Ltd. for the past five years and is a major shareholder. As a Director of Barker Minerals Ltd. for over five years Mr. Hardychuk has been instrumental in helping to raise capital for Barker Minerals Ltd. for its continued exploration programs and represents a broad shareholder base. Mr. Hardychuk is in constant contact with Barker and offers many years of business experience and is well versed in the day to day affairs of the company.
Gary C. Floyd Position: Corporate Secretary Lawyer from the business law firm of Lang Michener L.L.P.
Harold Oxley Position: Director Mr. Oxley began his career in retail management and operations with Woolworths/Woolco and T. Eaton Co. He later operated his own wholesale business, which he sold in 1985. He was a licensed Realtor in the late 1980s, and he also completed the Real Estate Agents Course and the B.C. Appraisal Course. He developed land in the interior of B.C. He completed the Securities Sales Course in 1996. Presently he is employed in sales to the new home builders, as well as representing Barker Minerals at various trade shows.
Robert H. Kuhl Position: CFO & Director Mr. Kuhl was a mutual fund representative for 20 years. From July 2003, he was licensed through Rice Financial of Winnipeg, Manitoba or its affiliates until he joined Barker Minerals in July of 2007. From July 2003 to July 2007 he was also licensed as an insurance agent. In 1998, he was conferred with the designation of Canadian Investment Manager and in 1999 the designation of Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. The latter designation was held only while he was licensed as a mutual fund representative.
Jerry A. Kristian (Sr.) Position: Director Mr. Kristian is a business man from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Over the years he has owned and operated various food outlets throughout western Canada. He has also built, owned and operated a major hotel, developed apartment units and owned and operated a heavy equipment business in Saskatoon. Currently he is Chair of the Board of St. Therese Catholic School of Faith and Mission, as well as, Director of the Healing and Growth Centre in Bruno, Saskatchewan.
