Barker Minerals Strengthens Exploration Team
| ||Prince George, B.C., May 11, 2007 -- Barker Minerals Ltd. (TSX-V: BML) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has made two key additions to its exploration team. Mr. Rein Turna B.Sc., P.Geo., joins Barker in the position of Vice President of Exploration and Mr. Gilles R. Dessureau M.Sc., as Project Exploration Manager. The new appointments reflect the Company's focus on executing the future exploration and development plans on its extensive property holding in the Quesnel Trough. |
"Mr. Turna and Mr. Dessureau are important additions to our exploration team as we begin to test the numerous drill targets defined to date and evaluate Barker's vast exploration properties," said Louis Doyle, President of Barker Minerals. Mr. Turna brings to Barker significant experience and knowledge on a variety of deposit types including: porphyry, volcanogenic massive sulphide and epithermal gold prospects. Rein has worked at senior management levels as a Staff Geologist for Lac Minerals and UMEX Inc and as a consulting exploration geologist to Placer Dome and Falconbridge.
Mr. Dessureau's education and experience has concentrated on massive sulphide and Nickel-Copper-PGE deposits. Gilles has held the position of Project Geologist with Yukon Zinc Corporation and Crowflight Minerals and brings considerable knowledge of moving deposits from pre-feasibility to pre-production stages.
